Floral Designer

The primary job of our floral designers is to create beautiful arrangements in the classic FLWR Shop style with efficiency and attention to detail for our daily delivery orders and small parties. A love of flowers, passion for beauty and a dedication to detail is very important for this role. We care deeply about the quality of our product and the work we do and we expect our team to feel the same. This is a full time position. Hours are Monday thru Friday 9 to 5 with the occasional overtime in busy times. Work is done in our production studio on Dickerson Pike. We offer one week paid vacation after 90 days and 2 weeks paid after one year.

Our Floral Designers must:

  • Have a love of beautiful flowers

  • Have a keen attention to detail

  • Understand color

  • Have one year or more experience designing flowers (preferably in a flower shop setting)

  • Be a team player and get along well in group settings

  • Work well under pressure

  • Identify when flowers are past their prime and therefor should not be used

  • Able to stand at the design table all day

Our Floral Designers are responsible for:

  • Creating beautiful floral arrangements within a given budget and in the FLWR style, without a recipe

  • Occasionally speaking to customers on the phone when additional design detail are required

  • Being efficient with their time to make sure all arrangements get done in a timely manner

  • Take photos of a few arrangements a week at our mobile photo station

  • Give the buyer feedback on which flowers are working well and which are not.

  • Clean work area at the end of the day to be ready for the next day.

  • Helping process flowers

  • Help other staff when possible or necessary

  • Stay late (with paid overtime) when necessary for holidays, events or busy weeks, to get the job done

Delivery Driver

Full Time $15 an hour

The primary responsibility of the Delivery Driver is to provide the best customer service possible. The Delivery Driver must be presentable, affable, and ready to assist customers. The Delivery Driver is also responsible for planning and managing the days deliveries, pickups and other tasks. This person is also responsible for all of his/her tools.

Details

The Delivery Driver reports directly to the General Manager.

The Delivery Driver must:

  • Deliver flowers in a safe and timely manner
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Follow company procedures on delivery paperwork
  • Route Deliveries and manage his/her day effectively
  • Keep delivery crates and other supplies neat and orderly
  • Keep the van clean and the cell phone charged
  • Provide owners with feedback about van repair needs in a timely manner
  • Refresh Hotel Flowers and plants when necessary
  • Empty and clean weekly vases upon pickup
  • Help process flowers when necessary
  • Help other shop staff when possible or necessary
  • Run various errands for the shop
  • Provide receipts for purchases made with shop credit card, including fuel
  • Help with non-driving tasks during events and holidays
  • Be able to consistently lift objects weighing 30 pounds or more and occasionally lift object weighing up to 75 pounds.
 

Retail Manager

Full time. Experience required. Starting at $16 an hour

The core objective of the Retail Manager’s various responsibilities is to ensure consistent and high-quality presentation of FLWR Shop West. The two main components of this objective are customer experience and brand communication.  The Retail Manager must be professional, presentable, affable, and ready to assist customers. The Retail Manager is responsible for ensuring that the shop is clean and well stocked with flowers and other display inventory. This person is also responsible for managing their tasks throughout the day.

Details

This is an hourly full-time position that will often involve 2 to 3 hours per week of overtime. Pay starts at $16 per hour. After 90 days we offer sick pay and participation in our café benefits plan. After one year we offer 3 days paid vacation and 5 days paid vacation after 2 years.

The Retail Manager reports directly to The Ownership.

The Traits of a Successful FLWR Shop Retail Manager:

The Basic Requirements:

  • Be able to self-start and work independently to accomplish all necessary tasks.

  • Understand how to maintain a smooth day-to-day work environment
  • Be able to use a computer for basic tasks like emailing and pricing.
  • Follow company procedures on opening and closing the shop.
  • Provide ownership with feedback about service issues in a timely manner.
  • Help with increased workload during events and holidays (with paid overtime)
  • Be able to consistently lift objects weighing 30 pounds or more and occasionally lift object weighing up to 75 pounds.

Sales

  • Always have empathetic approach to customer interaction

  • Understand freshness and balance clearance against customer satisfaction

Inventory

  • Price items clearly, consistently and based on company protocol
  • Understand the products we sell, when you don’t, say so
  • Utilize cycle counts to assist in procurement decision making
  • Pay attention to which inventory we source and its adherence to our values
  • Keep the shop clean and beautifully stocked Operations
  • Understand and utilize the broader operations infrastructure
  • Cooperate with the rest of the team, understand their roles and limitations

Brand Communication The Retail Manager is excited about beauty and able to make an impact. Retail Customer Service

Part Time starting at $13

The primary responsibility of the Customer Service Person is to provide the best customer service possible. The Customer Service Person must be presentable, affable, and ready to assist customers. The Customer Service Person is responsible for taking orders, keeping the shop clean and fully stocked with flowers, and managing their tasks throughout the day.

  • Provide excellent customer service.

Freelance Designer

Part Time $25 an hour

We are in constant need of freelance floral designers to help out on large scale events and holidays. If you have experience in floral design for events and are looking to help out on a seasonal basis please click apply and fill out the form. A minimum of 1 year of experience is required to become a member of our freelance crew. This position is a freelance position meaning you will be called on as needed rather than regularly scheduled.

Production Assistant

Part Time $15 an hour

We are always looking for helping hands with our large scale event set ups and strikes. This position is a non-design position and the best option for anyone trying to get into events and get a foot in the door. This position is very physically demanding and not exactly glamorous. This is a freelance position, meaning you will be called on as needed rather than regularly scheduled.
